This episode features a dear friend and amazing poetess Angela Psalm (IG: angela_psalm). This segment expounds on selected poetry by featured guests, extending a warm welcome to Angela Psalm.
Angela Psalm is a Melbourne, Australia, based poetess who started writing at the tender age of 10 years old in her journals to make sense of her emotions and social landscape. Angela began her own independent publishing / publication house, “The Dungeon Keep Atheneum Pty Ltd”.
While traversing through her love of sci-fi fantasy adventure books, particularly books on Arthurian Legend and her favourite author, Marion Zimmer Bradley’s retelling of ‘Mists of Avalon’, Jane Austen collections, she found her love of sonnets in Shakespeare and the incredible Bronte Sisters in her mournful sadness.
While still very much in love with writing, she gave up after she was told that she would never succeed by a mentor at the age of 20, while crushed she stopped writing. During that period away from writing she continued to consume books losing herself in their stories and journeys while she went into a career in holistic energy work and remedial massage.
During the covid lockdown Angela found herself journal writing trying to find herself but instead of losing herself in the darkness she used it as a tool to find herself again in writing.
On Instagram since August 2020, a platform of belonging / sympatico, found lifelong friends and all-encompassing love of poetry, reading other poets words on lives. While her writing style can be dark and / or sensual, it’s only in search of light.
Angela has participated in anthologies, Love is Pain / Winter - Brandy Lane (Where Beautiful Inks) and Inked Inceptions, Prompted Conceptions - Valerie Lorraine Productions. In July 2024 Angela published her debut poetry book, “Dacite, Darkness and Divinities Dialogue (Poetry in the Mourn / Morn) via Amazon, Ingram and has an Etsy shop for signed copies. Her 2nd in the Series of Light and Death will be released in July 2025 "Collaborating Calmness Within Our Darkness" a collaborative poetry book with other poets from Instagram.
